This story begins with a 30 second conversation between me and my mom. We were talking about her life as an activist, spending so much time working on two very important movements, the Chicano and Feminist movements. I asked her, 'did you all ever get a chance to talk about what you were doing? She said, 'no mija, there wasn't any time for that'.
I said, wouldn't it be great if you all could get together and just talk about what life was like for all of you in the Seventies, marching, meeting, protesting, challenging the structure of oppression. She said, 'that would be nice'. And that was how the journey that is this film 'Las Mujeres de la Caucus Chicana' began.
