Palabras Dulces, Palabras Amargas
The second film produced by Voces Primeras is the story of a performing arts collective, La Dulce Palabra. A multi-cultural, multi-generational group of women performing original works on a variety of subjects. I first saw these women perform at DePaul University in Chicago and was blown away. After the performance I spoke to the artistic director, Maritza Nazario and said I wanted to do a film on their work. This film will premier May 14th in Chicago, at the National Museum of Mexican Art as an entry in the 2009 Sor Juana Festival of the Arts.
